Реферат: eng: The southern taiga of western Siberia is divided along the 75 degrees E meridian into two strips which we conditionally regard as provinces. The results of surveying the small mammal populations are averaged and plotted over a geobotanical map for all years of observation for each province. A cluster classification of 29 species of small mammals based on their distributions was developed. There are 6 types of preferences. According to the results of the cluster analysis, four types of population are identified. The greatest values of the population density, the total number of the species encountered, and the background richness are characteristic of the forests and coppice fields type. Sorex araneus (Linnaeus 1758) is the leader in abundance in all types of population. The density and species richness of small mammal populations increase with intensified afforestation and trophicity levels of swamps and decrease with swamp growth and the levels of plowing and flooding in high water times. In addition, the total abundance of small mammals increases from west to east. The present and earlier results of analyses of the spatial heterogeneity of small mammal populations in the study subzone are compared.
