Реферат:	eng: The results of experimental studies of major factors of epigamic sexual selection and their effects on the reproductive parameters of mammals (with special reference to rodents) are reviewed. It is shown that females can optimize reproduction via olfactory mating choice. Female mating preferences are based on a limited number of epigamic selection factors, primarily genotypic differences between the partners and morphophysiological and behavioral characteristics of males. The factors of mate selection studied in mammals are significant for reproduction and enhance the realization of reproductive potential. © 2011 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
