Реферат:	eng: Fenced Barber traps allowed estimating the density of ground beetle populations. The investigations were carried out in 2004-2008 in the suburbs of the city of Biisk (Altaiskii Krai) and of the city of Karasuk (Novosibirsk oblast). Sixty-four species of ground beetles were identified. The collections from the open and fenced areas were compared. In the open areas, the number of beetles in the traps was usually greater than on the fenced areas. No correlation between the time of exposition and the yield of the traps was revealed. By the end of the 3(rd)-6(th) week of exposition, a share of relatively younger individuals increased. Usually, beetles fell into the traps with an area of 1 m(2) during 2-3 days. The absolute density of ground beetles on the fenced area was estimated at 55-60 ind./1 m(2).
