Реферат: eng: Relations between the probability of mating during two weeks of joint keeping of males and females were studied depending on their body mass and length, anogenital distance of male, and the stage of the estral cycle of female at the moment of the formation of a pair. The studies were conducted at the beginning of the reproductive period (April-May). The multiple regression analysis showed that only the anogenital distance was significantly related to the readiness of males to mating. Males with an anogenital distance of less than 23 mm did not mate. With increasing the anogenital distance the probability of mating became higher. This characteristic may be used as a prognostic one upon the assessment of the sexual maturity of water vole males.
