Реферат: eng: New crystals of the set KxRb1-xPb2Br 5 with 0 < x < 1, both pure and Er3+ doped, were grown using the Bridgman technique. The mechanism of structural transformation for a potassium to rubidium substitution with the symmetry change from monoclinic P21/c to tetragonal I4/mcm (at x ) 0.35) is suggested. The origin of rare earth atoms incorporation into the crystal structure of new compounds is explained. Polarization-optical observations reveal a dependence of the temperature of phase transition in mixed crystals on their composition. © 2009 American Chemical Society.
