Реферат: eng: Lightweight porous ceramics prepared from common zeolite-containing rocks is an energy-saving alternative to conventional foam glass. Here we show that not only chemical and mineral composition of the raw rock is important for choosing an appropriate technology to obtain a porous ceramics with the best performance, but the raw rock microstructure as well. Rocks with open-crystalline zeolitization can be used for manufacturing of the most lightweight (100–150 kg/m3) porous ceramics without mechanical activation, whereas rocks with cryptocrystalline zeolitization requires additional mechanical activation to obtain such a lightweight product. © 2016 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.
