Реферат: | eng: The structural peculiarities of lithium and sodium borate melts with modifier oxide contents above 40 mol% have been revealed using high temperature Raman spectroscopy. The changes in the short range order structures (SRO) and in the intermediate range order structures (IRO) were determined as the functions of the composition and temperature. It was found that the local structures of lithium and sodium borate melts are qualitatively similar at M2O 50 mol% (M=Li, Na), whereas their IRO structures are distinct in all investigated compositional ranges. A similarity in the SRO structures of lithium and sodium borate melts is broken when the modifier oxide content increases up to 60 mol%: BO3 3- orthoborate anions are present in lithium borate melts and absent in structure of sodium borate melts. In addition, CO 3 2- ions also are present in both glassy and molten sodium pyroborate. No CO3 2- ions were found in lithium borate melts with the highest Li2O content.
