Реферат: | eng: VUV optical SrMgF4 crystals, characterized by wide transparency region (Eg = 12.55 eV), were grown by the vertical Bridgman method. X-ray diffraction single crystal analysis was used to study crystal structure in a wide temperature range from -150 to 250°C. A phase transition was found near 177°C and the symmetry of low-temperature and high-temperature phases was determined. The character of phase transition and its parameters were defined by polarization-optical methods. Pyroelectric luminescence takes place in SrMgF4 below 177°C but disappears at higher temperature, supposedly because of change in the pyrolectric coefficient value at phase transition.
